Our Nomination Process
The program targets eighth-through-tenth grade students who possess "untapped" leadership potential, but who are not already benefiting from programs designed for the at-risk or the gifted student. Students are nominated by teachers, parents and others who know them well during their seventh-grade year.
Through a selection process, LEAD Inc. selects the top nominated students to be in the program. Students begin the program in their eighth grade year and graduate from the program at the end of their tenth-grade year.
Classes meet twice monthly, with a mixture of learning sessions, cultural experiences and educational outings. The curriculum utilizes instruction, reflection and experiential learning to make the concepts of leadership real and applicable to students in their daily lives.
