The Gas City City Council passed resolutions on July 1, 2008 allowing LEAD Inc to apply for the Community Focus Fund Grant from the Indiana Office of of Community and Rural Affairs on behalf of the city. This is an important step in an ongoing process, and there are many ways that local community members and business members can help.

Ways to help

• Donate your time: Research the history of the Thompson-Ray House, and participate in ongoing activities to educate the community about the Thompson-Ray House and the history of Gas City.
• Make a financial pledge: LEAD Inc requires financial commitments from area donors to ensure the Community Focus Fund grant can be secured. Pledges can come in the form of one-time donations or written pledges to give once the grant is secured.
• Write letters of support: A key component of the grant application is written letters of support from local community members, especially residents of Gas City, Indiana.
